Organizing your work
Beyond the board, Every gives you a personal layer: priorities and labels to classify work, snoozing to defer it, and a set of views that answer "what should I be doing?" at a glance.
Priorities
Every task has one of five priorities, each with its own icon and colour so they read instantly on cards and lists:
| Priority | Colour |
|---|---|
| Urgent | Red |
| High | Red |
| Medium | Orange |
| Low | Blue |
| Lowest | Blue |
Set priority when creating a task, from the task sidebar, or fastest of all from the right-click menu. Boards can sort columns by priority automatically.
Labels
Labels are colour-coded tags that cut across clients and departments: "bug", "waiting-on-client", "quick-win", whatever fits how your team thinks. They show on task cards and in lists, and you can toggle them from the task sidebar or the right-click menu. Admins manage the label set under Administration → Labels, so it stays curated rather than sprawling.
Due dates
A task's due date turns red, and gains an Overdue badge, once the date passes and the task isn't Done. Overdue tasks also surface in your Needs My Input view, so they chase you rather than the other way round. The right-click menu offers quick settings: Today, Tomorrow, End of Week, In One Week.
Snoozing
Snoozing hides a task from your boards and lists until you're ready for it. Right-click a task (or use the ⋯ menu on the task page), choose Snooze, and pick:
- For 1 hour
- Until this afternoon (1pm, offered in the morning)
- Until tomorrow (9am)
- Until next week (Monday, 9am)
Until then, the task waits in Tasks → Snoozed in the sidebar, which shows when each one resurfaces and has an Un-snooze button if you want it back early. When the time comes, the task simply reappears everywhere it belongs.
Snooze is personal triage, not a task change: nothing about the task itself moves, and nobody is notified.
Your personal views
The Tasks group in the sidebar holds your personal views. Each appears only when it has something in it, and each supports the full right-click menu:
Assigned To Me
Your plate: every open task assigned to you, with status and overdue counts summarised on the dashboard version.
Needs My Input
Tasks that are specifically waiting on a decision or action from you, grouped into tabs by what they need:
- Estimate Requested: someone wants your estimate before work starts
- Estimate Rejected: your estimate needs revision
- Estimate Pending Approval: an assignee's estimate awaits your sign-off (for tasks you created)
- Needs Review: a task assigned to you has reached a Review status
- Needs Finalising: approved and ready to be wrapped up
- Overdue Tasks: past due and not done
- Stale Tasks: assigned to you over a week ago and still sitting in to-do
If this view is empty, you're genuinely unblocked. The sidebar badge is red for a reason: clearing it unblocks other people.
Created By Me
Tasks you created, useful for tracking delegated work: you'll see estimates arriving for approval and progress on things you've handed off.
Drafts
Your unpublished draft tasks, visible only to you.
Snoozed
Everything you've deferred, with wake times.
Favourites
Star the clients, projects, retainers, and departments you touch constantly and they're pinned to the Favourites section of the sidebar, grouped by type. It's the difference between two clicks and a search every time.
